Modern Platform Bedframe

(Originally did this in September but didn’t publish until December) I hate to admit it but I’ve been sleeping on a mattress on my bedroom floor for the past 3 and half years. Honestly I haven’t minded it, in fact I enjoyed it. There’s something about being close to the floor that’s great. It’s easy to roll out of bed. It’s fun to face plant into bed after a long day. With a frame it’s one less piece of furniture that needs to be moved.

Wood Stand for moOde

(Originally did this in September but didn’t publish until December) I’ve been running moOde on rPi zero with a HiFi Berry DAC for some time now and I use it as my primary music source for my room. I use it mainly to stream from my phone or listen to Radio Swiss Classic. The out of the box bluetooth support was the main reason I went with moOde over Volumio. Looks like Volumio might have out of the box bluetooth support now, it’s been probably over a year since I set this up.

The One Hour Shoe Rack

Our cheap shoe rack broke into a few peices a couple weeks ago and I decided it was finally time to make a new one. A quick sketch and a trip to Home Depot later I had the design and wood ready to go. But…..I put off making it till this past weekend. It went together in an hour, hence the name the ‘One Hour Shoe Rack’. All it took was 3 cuts and 8 screws.

Sirin Wood Side Cheeks

I recently got a Moog Sirin and thought I could spruce it up a bit with some wooden side cheeks. I mean what synth doesn’t look good with some side cheeks?! This was a super easy project. First I made a pattern of the side of the Sirin along with the mounting holes. Then I grabbed some mahogany I had lying around and went to my brothers house to use his table saw. A few quick cuts later I had some nice cheeks. All that was left was to drill holes for the mounting screws.

First Post

I have been looking to get back into blogging about my projects and what better way than with a revamped site! I migrated my site to Jekyll. More to come as I figure how to work with Jekyll and make this site cooler!
