Wood Stand for moOde

(Originally did this in September but didn’t publish until December) I’ve been running moOde on rPi zero with a HiFi Berry DAC for some time now and I use it as my primary music source for my room. I use it mainly to stream from my phone or listen to Radio Swiss Classic. The out of the box bluetooth support was the main reason I went with moOde over Volumio. Looks like Volumio might have out of the box bluetooth support now, it’s been probably over a year since I set this up.

Anyways I wanted a nice stand for the rPi and DAC that was better than the circuit boards sitting on an ESD bag on my desk. Had some thoughts about making an enclosure for it but in the end I went the simple route. The stand is small piece of mahogany with some holes for standoffs that support the boards.

The following pictures show the assembly process. First the standoffs for the rPi were attached.

Then the rPi was attached along with the standoffs for the HiFi Berry.

Finally the HiFi Berry was attached and it was fully assembled!

And there it is in it’s final resting place on my monitor riser (also made from mahogany)! It gets power from a 5V micro USB source. The audio cables route to my receiver that sits under the riser.
